choma!
here's an email i sent out. be blessed:)
Well, I just wanted to share with you a little something. As you may or may not know, medical school can be a financial challenge and I guess all this time I have been hoping to get a miraculous scholarship that would make the load lighter. So I applied for several and there's this particular one, American Association for the University of Women to which I applied...it gives 20k for the year. Anyway, so yesterday I received a letter from them and well...they regretted to inform me that blah blah blah...i.e. i didn't get it. So I was kind of sad because I thought it'd be my big break.
Well, this morning I walk up with a few fragments of a verse in my head...kind of had..."the righteous have never gone hungry or been seen begging"....I couldn't quite remember the verse and I didn't know where it was in the bible. Then I remembered a song we used to sing in school (Greensteds). It goes like this:
God is a good God, yes He is
God is a good God, yes He is
What does He do? He lifts me up (wewe)
He turns me around, (choma)
He puts my feet on higher ground..
Then I thought to myself..wow, where is this verse that says that God puts my feet on higher ground? I looked it up and the closest verse I found was Psalm 40:2 (...he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand). While debating about whether being put on a rock could qualify as higher ground...on the other page of the bible I noticed I had underlined a verse in pencil...Psalm 37:23. It read: "The Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; Though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." and I read on to verse 25 and it went on to say "I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread." Can someone say Amen to that! I was so excited...
Talk about scholarships that do not provide but a God who always does!!! No matter what...your bank account may not speak provision, your pocket, your old car...but no matter what God will provide. I guess we shouldn't get caught up in the method we should get caught up in just simply trusting God...because He is doing a new thing!!!
