The other important thought I want to leave with you as we conclude our season of consecration this week is that "We are now in a season of tremendous CHANGE ...
some members are experiencing the joy of purcahsing their first new home. However, they are going to go through the pain that comes from change.
The pain of discarding certain items that cannot go to their new place. The pain of finding extra time to prepare their new residence. The pain of actually moving. The pain of confusion and chaos until everything that has been moved can be put in its proper place. The pain of paying a mortgage as oppose to simply rent. The bottom line is that prior to enjoying their new place, the pain (in the neck ) of change must be encountered. And one's attitude during this process of change will determine how well they get through the change.
I do not know all that God has in store (for us) but change is happening! ...Our ability to get through change successfully will depend upon our attitude. So, here's a few things I'd like you to keep in mind during this season of change:
a.. The word "Change" means to cause to be different, shift, adjust, reorganize, transform, replace, move. This is already happening where God is moving some people from the Boston area. However, he's also moving new people into the Boston area as well. Things are going to be different for us...
b.. There can be no real change without discomfort. Expect to be uncomfortable with yourself, as well as each other. When a parent experiences the change of their child going away to college, they experience the uncomfortable tension between the loss of control and the need to still be a parent. When a person decides to change their body, they experience the discomfort of exercise and/or change of diet.
c.. God will give us grace (His strength as seen in 2 Corinthians 12:9,10) to embrace and enjoy the benefits that will come from change. You and I will have to draw from His strength by spending more time in His presence in prayer and worship. You and I are responsible to draw from God's strength (Isaiah 12:2,3).
d.. It is God who is doing the changing. Therefore, you need to understand that I do not fully know or understand what He is doing. What does this mean? It means that more than likely I will not have any answers as to where God is taking us. Yes, this is disconcerting. However, we are asked to "Walk by Faith!" (2 Corinthians 5:7).
e.. In the end, (it is) going to be a better place. (Ecclesiastes 7:8)

It also must be noted that for the change to take place, especially in us; we mus be ready to embark on the change, accept the the change and be ready for the consequence/ the end product.
